Save, insert and copy blocks
A block is the smallest reusable building unit of a Shopping Experience (e.g. an image-text block or a text block).
Save a block to the library
Open a Shopping Experience under Content → Shopping Experiences and edit a page.
Click the block in the editor. The block sidebar appears on the right.
Click Save as block. The Save block dialog opens.
Fill in the fields:
Field Meaning Name Display name in the library (required), e.g. "Hero with CTA". Tags (optional) Keywords for later filtering/search. Save as linked block Toggle – see below. The Save as linked block toggle controls how inserted copies behave:
- Off (default): Static copy. The inserted block is edited independently. Changes to the library block do not propagate.
- On: Linked block. Inserted blocks stay connected to the library entry – see Linked blocks.
Click Save. The block then appears in the Block Library and in the picker category Saved blocks.
Insert a saved block
- Open the block picker (left sidebar) in the editor.
- Select the Saved blocks category.
- Drag the entry onto the stage.
The block is inserted with all slots; new IDs are generated internally. If the entry was marked linked, the instance keeps its connection to the library block.
Category empty?
Then no block has been saved yet. Open a block and choose Save as block.
Copy and paste a block
- Select a block. The sidebar shows the quick actions.
- Click Copy block. The sidebar then shows
Clipboard: <name>. - Select the target block and click Paste before or Paste after.
The pasted block is an independent copy with new IDs.
Clipboard is session-scoped
The clipboard survives navigation between pages in the same browser tab but is cleared when the tab is closed. Cross-tab paste is not supported.
