FAQ & troubleshooting

The grid blocks don't show up in the block picker

Grid blocks are not in the standard category selector but in the additional Custom block category dropdown right below it. Pick a group there (e.g. Columns (equal)). If the dropdown doesn't appear at all, clear the browser cache and reload the backend; check that the plugin is activated.

My custom template doesn't appear under "Custom blocks"

  • Make sure the template was saved (message "Grid template has been saved").
  • Reload the shopping experience editor – newly created templates are registered when the editor opens.
  • A template without a name is skipped. Give it a name.

I can't add another slot

A grid allows at most 12 slots. When the limit is reached, the editor reports "Maximum number of slots reached (12)". Remove a slot or split the content across a second grid.

The mobile layout looks different from the desktop one

That's intentional. Each viewport can have its own grid; the ready-made presets deliberately stack into a single column on mobile. To change this, edit the mobile viewport separately in a custom template – see Create grid templates.

A change to the template has no effect

  • Changes take effect on the next page load in the storefront. Clear the Shopware cache if needed (Settings → Caches & indexes or bin/console cache:clear).
  • Check that the block in use is actually based on this template and not on a ready-made preset (presets are fixed and cannot be changed).

I deleted a template – now a layout is missing

Deleting a template that is still in use makes the associated blocks lose their layout. Recreate the template and assign a matching grid to the affected blocks again, or replace the blocks in the shopping experiences.

Slots overlap – is that a bug?

No. Overlapping slots are allowed; the order defines the layer (slot 2 above slot 1, etc.). The editor shows a note about it. If you don't want overlap, move or shrink the affected slots.
